Creighton University Heritage Society
If the Creighton family had not expressed their desire to establish and endow the University in their estate plans, there would not be a Creighton University today. To pay tribute to those who share the vision of our founders, the Creighton University Heritage Society has been established. To become a member of the Heritage Society, simply mail a copy of the portion of your will, trust, life insurance policy or other beneficiary designation form pertaining to your bequest to the Office of Estate and Trust Services. All members of the Heritage Society are separately listed in the Honor Roll of Donors and receive an attractive nameplate for display.
The following types of commitments, confirmed in writing
and subject to certain restrictions, qualify you for membership in Creighton University Heritage Society:
- a bequest provision in your Will or revocable trust;
- a life-income gift that names Creighton as a remainder beneficiary, such as a charitable remainder trust, a charitable gift annuity, or a pooled income fund gift;
- a charitable lead trust that provides income to Creighton for a donor’s lifetime or a term of years;
- a gift or assignment of qualified retirement plan assets, such as an IRA, 401(k) or 403(b);
- a gift of life insurance;
If you have already included Creighton in a bequest or other planned gift, we hope you will let us know by filling out the member profile form. Your willingness to be listed as a member of Creighton University Heritage Society encourages others to follow your example. We acknowledge and respect those who wish to remain anonymous, but we urge you to let us know of your plans on a confidential basis in any case. It supports Creighton’s planning for the future. Of course, if you have not yet included Creighton in your plans and you would like to explore the best options for you and your family, do not hesitate to contact us. We would be glad to assist you on a confidential basis and without any obligation.
In an effort to preserve your legacy for the purpose it is intended, we have chosen a few simple ways to recognize your commitment. Each new member will receive a certificate of appreciation and letter of thanks from the President of Creighton, along with a handsome recognition gift that we hope you will treasure for years to come.
In addition to these small expressions of gratitude,
we hope you will allow us to recognize you as a member of the Creighton University Heritage Society in
our annual donor recognition publication. Your inclusion in this publication
encourages others to join in this important effort. Lastly, as a member
of Creighton University Heritage Society, you will receive timely information,
tips, and ongoing professional gift planning services from the Office of Estate and Trust Services.
